With four out of five stars, Hamburg University of Technology (TU Hamburg) once again scores well in the master's ranking of the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE). The CHE ranking has been regarded as the most comprehensive and detailed university ranking in Germany for 25 years. It evaluates universities, universities of applied sciences and dual universities on the basis of criteria such as studies, teaching and research. In addition to fact-based criteria, it also offers assessments by current students. This year's survey shows that computer science students throughout Germany are very satisfied with their studies, despite the fact that they take noticeably longer to complete than other subjects. This makes computer science one of the most popular subjects in the country.

Satisfied students at the TU Hamburg
Around 7,500 students across Germany were surveyed for the ranking between January and August 2024. Up to 15 criteria were included in the assessment, depending on the subject.

TU Hamburg was particularly praised by their students in the following categories:

   - General study situation: 4.3 out of 5 stars
   - Support from lecturers: 4.3 out of 5 stars
   - Transition to the Master's program: 4.3 out of 5 stars

The survey included TU students on the Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering and Information and Communication Systems degree programs. In the field of mathematics, the subjects Technomathematics and the Joint European Master in Interdisciplinary Mathematics were evaluated. These courses at the TU Hamburg differ from those at other universities: they are not only offered as part of technical study programs, but as independent subjects with a clear profile.
