Semestereröffnungsfeier für Bachelorstudierende
Zum Beginn des Wintersemesters lädt die Technische Universität Hamburg die Erstsemester herzlich zur offiziellen Semestereröffnungsfeier ein.
Ab 13:00 Uhr haben neue Studierende die Gelegenheit, sich im Foyer an zahlreichen Informationsständen über zentrale Einrichtungen und Angebote rund um das Studium und Campusleben zu informieren.
Das feierliche Programm beginnt um 14:00 Uhr mit einem Grußwort des Vizepräsidenten für Lehre Prof. Thorsten Kern.

Semester opening ceremony for international master’s students
At the beginning of the winter semester, Hamburg University of Technology warmly invites international master’s students to the official semester opening ceremony.
The festive program will start at 1:00 p.m. with a welcome address by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Thorsten Kern.
Afterwards, new students will have the opportunity to visit numerous information booths in the foyer to learn more about key services and offers related to studying and campus life.

At the Startup Café, our start-up advisors are on campus and available to answer any questions you may have about starting a business and boosting your impact. There is also free coffee, snacks and small giveaways.
Startup Port @TUHH supports those interested in starting a business, students, researchers and alumni with individual advice, workshops and networking formats. From the initial idea to market entry, we offer practical help, contacts to experts and access to a strong start-up community.

Antrittsvorlesungen/EIM-Colloquium Autonomous and Networked Cyber-Physical Systems
Dear TU members,
We are pleased to announce that the EIM Colloquium, entitled ‘Autonomous and Networked Cyber-Physical Systems’, will take place on Tuesday, 25 November 2025.
As part of the colloquium, Prof. Christian Renner and Prof. Olaf Landsiedel, two of our most recent colleagues in the field of cyber-physical systems, will give their inaugural lectures. Prof. Christian Renner has been successfully heading the Institute for Autonomous Cyber-Physical Systems since 2022, and Prof. Olaf Landsiedel took up the professorship for Networked Cyber-Physical Systems in April of this year.
We are pleased to welcome Prof. Kay Uwe Römer, Head of the Institute of Technical Informatics at Graz University of Technology, as a special guest, who will give a research talk on ‘Intelligent and Networked Embedded Systems’.
The event is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. and will be held in lecture Hall H.016. Further details on the event and a formal invitation will follow shortly.
