Every year in the winter semester, around 450 international students begin their studies at the Hamburg University of Technology. A new place to study also means looking for rooms or apartments, but these are rare and expensive. This year, the TU Hamburg again wants to support its new international students in their search for housing and is asking landlords and apartment owners for assistance.

The idea to launch a general call for housing grew with the increasing demand from students. "Especially for international students, finding housing is a challenge. They don't know the local conditions and are under enormous time pressure," says Aylin Kruse from the International Office at TU Hamburg and initiator of the campaign. "We would like to take them by the hand right at the beginning so that they have a good start to their studies in Hamburg."

The search is on for furnished rooms and apartments starting September 15 or October 1 that are accessible by public transportation. The following information is ideally needed for further placement: Warm rent, rental period, room size, location, and contact information. Short-term rentals are also welcome. If you are interested, you can send an email to rooms@tuhh.de or call 040 428782707.
