CHE Ranking: Industrial Engineering and Management at TU Hamburg rated particularly highly
Praises for the general study situation, supervision by lecturers and practical orientation

Very good education in industrial engineering: Hamburg University of Technology scores particularly well in the current 2023 Master's ranking by the Centrum für Hochschulentwicklung (CHE). According to CHE itself, it has provided the most comprehensive and detailed ranking of German universities, universities of applied sciences and cooperative universities for 25 years. The now released Master's ranking is intended to provide Bachelor's graduates with guidance when choosing a Master's program. This year, the subjects evaluated were business administration, economics, economics, business informatics and industrial engineering.
The latter is located at the Dean's Office of Management Sciences and Technology at TU Hamburg and was evaluated by Master's students between the first and sixth semester from the International Industrial Engineering and Management (M. Sc.), Joint Master in Global Technology and Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship (G-TIME) (M. Sc.) and Logistics, Infrastructure and Mobility (M. Sc.) degree programs. The research orientation (with 4.5 out of 5 stars), the general study situation, the range of courses and the support provided by lecturers (each with 4.4 stars), the practical orientation of teaching and the support for stays abroad (both with 4.3 stars) were rated particularly positively. In each of these categories, TU Hamburg was above the already high average for all universities.
Prof. Kathrin Fischer, Head of the International Industrial Engineering and Management degree program, commented: "Together with all the colleagues involved in our degree programs, I am very pleased that our Master's students rate their degree programs above average, especially with regard to the research and practical orientation of teaching. This shows once again that we are able to successfully combine both aspects and offer students a course that is academically challenging and at the same time provides graduates with excellent qualifications for the professional world of industrial engineering."
Prof. Carsten Gertz, Head of the Institute of Transport Planning and Logistics, adds: "The Master's degree course in Logistics, Infrastructure and Mobility combines a technical, planning and economic perspective for passenger and freight transport. In this respect, a great deal of interdisciplinarity is already taught and made possible during the course. We are therefore pleased that both this research and practical relevance are rated positively."
