The Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) performs consistently well, achieving several very good rankings in the current 2025 university ranking by the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE). During the summer semester of 2025, CHE surveyed master’s students from the first to sixth semester. At TUHH, the study programs Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, and Materials/Process Engineering were examined. One result stands out and runs consistently through the survey: overall, students are consistently satisfied with their study conditions at TUHH, rating them as “good.” This applies to all the master’s programs surveyed. In the category “Contact with Professional Practice,” TUHH's programs in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology even rank among the top group, receiving a rating of “very good.” The programs Civil Engineering, Biotechnology, Mechanical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Process Engineering also perform well in this category. Another area receives outstanding marks: TUHH is ranked at the top for “Support for Overseas Study,” especially among Mechanical Engineering master’s students. As a result of the student survey, the indicators of general study situation, teaching offer, study organization, supervision by teaching staff, and support from teaching staff were all rated as consistently good. This allows TUHH to achieve a high standard even in a nationwide comparison.

In addition to data on study, teaching, and research, the ranking includes evaluations from students about their universities. The results of the student survey on the general study situation are illustratively presented using a 5-star scale. This year, the subjects Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Materials/Process Engineering (universities) or Mechanical Engineering/Materials Science (Universities of Applied Sciences/Dual Universities), and Psychology (at universities) were the focus of the survey.
