Professor Dieter Krause from the Institute of Product Development and Design Technology at the Hamburg University of Technology is a new member of the renowned German Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech). Based on his outstanding research and reputation, Krause was elected to the academy at acatech's general meeting, where he will contribute his scientific expertise to advising policymakers and society. As part of his membership, he will work with national as well as international colleagues on specialist topics in which technology sciences but also overarching issues with a technology policy background are discussed.
"As a new acatech member, I am very pleased to be able to make my scientific and technical know-how available to politics, business, science and an interested public, and to develop technical solutions for pressing future issues together with other experts," says the mechanical engineer, who conducts research in the fields of aeronautics, mechanical and plant engineering, and medical technology.
