15 Sep 2025 to 19 Sep 2025, 10:00 to 17:00 in Hamburg University of Technology, Room D3.015
In our summer school, we want to enable Master’s and PhD-students of all related disciplines to address the insufficient representation of women, trans*, intersex, and non-binary individuals in clinical research, as well as the reverse phenomenon of underrepresentation of men in medicine - e.g., in psychiatry and psychotherapy. During the five-day summer school, young scientists will network across disciplines and use the user-centered design thinking method to develop hands-on solutions for five relevant topics, including endometriosis, prosthetics, arthroplasty, eating disorders in men, and patient safety. Those affected will be actively involved to ensure that their perspectives and needs are represented during the week. The aim of our Summer School is to further qualify participants through interdisciplinary exchange in the above-mentioned topics. They will be empowered to develop innovative and data-based approaches that close gaps in sex- and gender-sensitive (clinical) research and thus enable better care.
The one-week summer school is co-hosted by the Working group for Data-Driven Innovation at TUHH, the Institute for Diversity Medicine at Ruhr University Bochum, acadim, and Leuphana University. This project is kindly funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space - therefore all costs for the summer school as well as travel costs for participants from outside Hamburg *will be* covered!
Please apply here to participate in the summer school. You have 255 characters available for the free-text answers. We will confirm your seat in the summer school within the next two weeks via email. The registration deadline is July 31. However, please note that we only have 20 seats available, which will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.
In case you have any questions, please contact us via email.
Best regards from the organizers.
