Two-Week Online German Preparation Course for New BSc Students in International Programs

This two-week online preparatory German course is designed to provide international BSc students starting their studies at TUHH with basic knowledge of the German language. This course aims to equip students with fundamental German language skills to ensure a smooth start to their studies at TUHH and facilitate their life in Hamburg.

By offering an online learning environment, students can conveniently participate in the program from anywhere in the world. This is not a self-study course, but language course conducted every day in online sessions.

The target group for this online course is international students who have been admitted to an english Bachelor's program at TUHH. Course seats are limited. International students from other study programs may be considered if there are available places. This course is free of charge.

When registering, please let us know your currant German Level (A1–B1). After reviewing all registrations, we will determine the class levels and group participants according to demand.
To register you need a placement test. Please take the Cornelsen Online-Test which is suitable up to level B1: https://www.cornelsen.de/empfehlungen/sprachtest/deutsch-als-fremdsprache
Beginner with no knowledge of German do not need a placement test.

Your registration can only be considered if you send your official TUHH admission letter as a PDF to kathrin.heuking@tuhh.de within 2 days after registering.

VERY IMPORTANT:

This German prep course is not part of the degree program. It is an optional offer to prepare you for your studies and living in Hamburg. Enrollment for the degree programs must be done separately.

No ECTS credit points are awarded for participation. Completion of this preliminary German course does not replace participation in a semester-long German course (IBH), which is a prerequisite for graduation.

Participation in the course does not automatically fulfill the enrollment requirements for studying at TUHH. No claims for enrollment can be derived from attending the course.
