From Industrial Monument to Energy Centre (EN)
A beacon of the energy transition: for far too long, the old anti-aircraft bunker in Wilhelmsburg was an architectural eyesore. Today, the former wartime structure is a globally unique example of the innovative use of renewable energies to supply heat to an entire neighbourhood.
Here you can learn all about the history of the energy bunker and the technologies used there in a very small space. Hamburger Energiewerke is also applying the principle of intelligently bundling climate-friendly energy sources to supply neighbourhoods with green electricity and heat in other locations in Hamburg.
