Visualise it! Make your research visible

28.05.2024 09:00-16:30

Addressees:
Doctoral candidates and postdocs

Goals:
Participants acquire the creative skills to develop, design and create visualisations that are suitable for different target groups, purposes, and objectives.

Content Outline:
Given the fact that people generally understand and retain visual information better than any text-based information, scientists should be able to communicate complex scientific concepts through engaging and vivid visualisations, especially when they need to communicate their topic to a wide range of diverse audience.
The workshop explains and trains the process of visualisation by combining basic design elements and applying the core principles of design. We will focus on different forms of visualisation such as infographics, diagrams, graphical summaries etc. to present concepts, ideas, procedures, and results in an understandable way and serve as visually appealing eye-catchers on posters, slides, in publications or as posts in scientific blogs.
