Contents:
- static and cinematic method of the theory of plasticity, application to structural concrete
- dimensioning of beams and walls on the basis of stress fields and truss models
- failure mechanisms for beams
- deformation capacity of plastic hinges
- slab design with strip method
- yield line theory for slabs
- introduction to fracture mechanics
Learning Outcomes:
After successfully participating, students are able to
- understand limit state problems of concrete structures
- apply limit analysis methods to most important problems
- autonomously develop solutions for complex problems
